You can always rely on Ben and the team at Rapid Tune Greensborough. We get our cars serviced there and the guys even helped us out when my son was buying his first car by checking out a couple before we found THE ONE. I value their transparency, their willingness to help and go the extra mile every time. Such a relief to find a local mechanic we can trust.

All prices they quote are without GST so add 10% .I was quoted $800 for alternator price which was above the advertised quote on Auto Guru site for their business and included GST they reneged on quote and said $860 then added 10% now $163 over Auto Guru RX350 lexus

Worst mechanic in Greensborough, I will never, ever take my car back here. They took my car on a Thursday to fix a coolant leak, stating I’d have it back the next day…….. I didn’t get it back until Tuesday night the next week. I expect to be without a car for one night, instead it was six days. Abysmal performance. And, this was after being called in to pick it up earlier on Tuesday, only to find it literally in pieces when I got there, making me late for an appointment that day. This place seems to be run by a 26 year old. I’d recommend one of the other local places that have older and more experienced staff. More maturity might be required in order to properly understand how to communicate expectations with a customer. I trusted that when I was told my car would be ready, that it indeed would be. How wrong I was. Do not trust them when they tell you something about your car. Or if you’d prefer just avoid entirely as their are multiple other mechanics very nearby.

Zach and the team helped me out when I was in need. They sorted my valve stems on my SSR SP5 rims after a previous shop incorrectly fitted them. I will definately be calling on them anytime I need work done to my car and regular servicing.

ZERO STARS WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We are finally able to write our review now that our VCAT hearing against Rapid Tune is over. We took our car in to Rapid Tune Greensborough and were told by Ben, the manager that the engine of our Mazda 6 needed to be replaced. He sourced an engine which he claimed had 60,000km and a cash figure of $5,000 was agreed on. He offered us a loan car and the brakes completely failed on the first day. What was unbelievable is that the mechanic drove the loan car back from our house to the workshop without brakes! After they installed the engine, the radiator burst and Ben said it was ‘wear and tear’. During this conversation we found out by accident that the mechanic had damaged the transmission during the engine installation and they had replaced the transmission without our knowledge or consent. From here on, we had nothing but problems one after another, having to return continuously because of a series of engine and transmission failures. Ben implied that we did something to the car, and all along tried to make it look like we were the problem. Finally, it was discovered that the engine they put in was faulty because of a blown head gasket. It was taken back to the supplier for repair. We later found out through the engine supplier that the engine Ben told us had 60,000km actually had 154,045km. The supplier confirmed that Rapid Tune was well aware of the kilometres on the engine. We couldn’t believe it! We spent many valuable hours trying to get some sort of resolution, being forced to engage with lawyers and subsequently proceeding to VCAT where even under oath, Rapid Tune representatives were dishonest. Regardless, we had a favourable outcome. Our main aim was to hold Rapid Tune accountable as we did not want this to happen to anyone else. The way that the situation was handled is very disappointing. Not once did Rapid Tune apologise for what had happened. Rather, they continually claimed that the issues with the car were due to lack of maintenance which had no validity. Even any attempt at contacting head office was a waste of time. In addition to the dishonesty regarding the changeover engine and the replacement of the transmission, there were other issues such as poor workmanship, leaving our car in the back paddock overnight, referring to problems as “wear and tear” and being accused of not looking after our car, when all along it was Rapid Tune who didn’t look after our car. We are now left with a car that has an old engine and we will never know what transmission was put in to our car, or the age and state of it. This was a terrible experience that we hope no one ever has to go through and hopefully, this makes others aware.

Can't thank Zach & the team enough. After months of putting up with my car driving like rubbish I made the call & was booked in withing 24 hours. They knew what was wrong straight away & had it sorted in no time. The car has never felt so nice to drive. Cheers again guys I look forward to having the car looked after down there in the future.

Zac and his crew down at Rapid Tune are second to none. Zac ran me through all the workd that was happening to my car when I was down there, was as clear as possible and was true to to his word. The workmanship as well was top tier, my car has never felt this good to drive. Will not hesitate to send all my friends and family down there for all mechanical work!!

I cannot recommend Zac enough. Always really helpful and honest, nothing he doesn't know!! It's really hard to find a good, reliable and genuine mechanic but Zac ticks all the boxes, nothing he cant fix, has gotten me out of many spots of bother! Will be returning for many years to come, will 100% be recommending to all my mates and family, wouldn't trust any one else! By far the best in the area!

Zach looked over my car after hitting a nasty pothole. Gave the all clear that there was no damage outside of the wheels, let me know that one of the tyres was still good, and ordered a replacement for the one that didn't survive. Clear communication and no trying to convince me of repairs I didn't need.

I called Rapid Tune first thing Monday morning asking for assistance with an urgent need. They could not have been more understanding and obliging. They squeezed me in their already busy schedule. It meant I did not have to cancel my commitments. I highly recommend them. Dom

Was lucky enough to have my tyres handled by Zac. He was very helpful in recommended a tire size and composition that best suits my application. A great deal of care was Taken by Zac when fitting the tires, not a smudge or scratch on my wheels when I got them back, and balanced to perfection. My car gets serviced here regularly. I had a split in my fuel line requiring a new part from Korea (8 weeks off the road!). Once the part was available, the car was repaired and fully serviced within a few hours of the new part arriving in Australia at a very reasonable price given the work required. Thanks guys!

Zach at Rapid Tune Greensborough was so helpful in helping me figure out what was wrong with my car. Previously I took my car in to my mechanic (a different mechanic) because of an issue that kept popping up - I took it to them around 8 times in the past 3-4 years, and every time they told me nothing was wrong. But I knew something wasn't right. Eventually a friend recommended Zach and I took my car to him. In 20 minutes he figured out exactly what was wrong with it and told it to me straight. I'm so thankful that I finally know what I need to do. Very knowledgeable, honest and helpful!

I took my car into Rapid Tune as I had some issues with my wheel alignment. Zach did a great job on the alignment and was able to fit me in the very next day! He also did a thorough check on my car to diagnose any other issues that may have been causing the poor alignment. He is extremely reliable and trustworthy - he gives an honest opinion on any issue that is presented to him. He went above and beyond to ensure I could get my car back when I needed it. A number of my family members have since taken their cars in to get looked at and happily report they had the same positive experience with Zach. Highly recommend!

I visited Rapid Tune Greensborough to get my brakes checked after being told they needed to be replaced by another company. Rapid Tune investigated the whole system and realised they did not need to be replaced and have about another year on them. In this situation I could have easily been lied to and charged $500 for brake replacements (that didn’t actually need to be replaced), but instead Zac and his team were super transparent and honest. Despite taking the time to inspect my brakes, he did not charge me for this labour. Could not recommend more highly.

Zac and his team at Rapid Tune Greensborough service both my cars on a regular basis. I have always found Zac and his team to be very professional, friendly and kind. I drive away each time feeling safe in the knowledge that my car has received exemplary care, no matter if it's a full service or replacing a seat belt bucket that my dog chewed! Zac and the team at Rapid Tune Greensborough are highly knowledgeable and very professional. Recently I brought my car in for an emergency repair at short notice and they were able to help me out. While fixing my first problem, they also identified another problem with a previous repair made by someone else, and Zac clearly explained this over the phone to me and identified what was required to fix the problem. He even sent me some photos to show me why this was unsafe. Zac was able to source all the new parts for me and had the car all fixed on the same day. Absolute legends. Dropped my car into rapid tune greensborough as it was having issues with starting & power in gears after another mechanic couldn't figure out the issue. Zach & his crew diagnosed the issue within 2hrs & got on the repair straight away. Had the car back within 48hours ready for the long weekend! Was expecting the worst (based on past experiences with other mechanics)…but Zac called to let us know that there was no problem - and no extra cost!! This is the second time I’ve used RapidTune Greensborough. My first experience was an online tyre purchase in which RapidTune did the tyre change over without any issues and hassles. My second experience was amazing too. My Toyota Aurion had a horrendous cyclic screeching noise for a few months in which another mechanic was targeting the Disc Rotors and Brake pads for potential replacement. That would have costed quite a bit but thank God I took the car to Zac from RapidTune Greensborough to have a second opinion! Zac was the only mechanic that was able to spare just 5mins of their time out of their day to test drive and listen to the screeching noise. Only after that I booked in an appointment with them for that week and from their thorough checks, it resulted in just a readjustment of the handbrake to fix that problem! I’m very glad they showed such great customer care especially doing that first test drive check for me, and then their honesty to fix only what was necessary! Had an excellent experience with these guys, Zach from Rapid Tune was more than happy to help me out, super friendly and helpful. I went in just getting an alignment on my car and left happy with my car driving straight and comfortable. 100% recommend this place if you have anything you need help with.

Suddenly needed a bearing replaced in my 4WD and most places were closed for the Xmas break but Zach was able to get me in within a couple of days. Gave me an estimated price and although the job took longer, he held his price to his estimate which was so admirable. He fully explained what had been done and all in a very friendly manner. I recently had my car serviced by Zac and his team and cant speak highly enough of their service, professionalism, friendliness and honesty. I had a final voucher service, having been elsewhere for the second of three on th voucher but I decided to return to Greensborough Rapid Tune to give the new team a try and am so glad I did. They honoured the voucher servicing & rather than just going ahead with extra items they explained the timeframe of specific additional discounted items listed on the voucher including when & whether they were actually required because it was the final voucher service. My car is running well & really appreciate finding a local mechanic team whom I can trust to do a great job and who communicate so well. I was so happy with them I got my mum’s car serviced with them as well and she will be posting a similarly positive recommendation!

Fit me in asap, was punctual, great customer service, greeted me with a very welcoming hello and even got the job done in record time. Basically I went to Rapid Tune as I needed new brake pads for my vehicle and was told by the mechanic that they were too busy to arrange delivery for that day, however, requested that I personally go and pick up the pads from Bursons. I did so, and had the brake pads replaced. Right away there was a notable squealing on the brakes, so took them back to Rapid Tune and the mechanic's expert diagnostics without checking over the vehicle, was they are faulty brake (new) pads. Unfortunately, because I had picked them up from Bursons (thanks! Rapid Tune, Greensborough), there was no warranty. So I had to replace a new set of brake pads for a second time. Again, after the pads were replaced, the squealing continued, so turns out it wasn't faulty pads after all. The mechanic then recommended the brake discs need machining, so I paid for this service and again brakes continued to squeal. The mechanic said that its my style of pressue on the brake pedal, and the squeal will stop eventually, as pads are new and needs to be worn in. I continued to keep Rapid Tune informed about the ongoing brake squealling across the months, and then they suggested machining down again, of course at a cost, and "no guarantee this would resolve the issue". The mechanic on the phone then made up some lies that I "insisted" on supplying my own brake pads, so at this point, I had lost all faith in Rapid Tune and quickly realised these mechanics have very little subject matter expertise on cars. I now know who NOT to consult in future when I experience car issues.
