Midas Bankstown Tyre & Auto Service

With some sadness, i have to change my  review. (Long read ahead). I used to believe that Maya (owner on MIDAS Bankstown) was a trustworthy guy and wanted the best for our family car... but i now realise that he is just another salesman. Here's some xamples: - told me that rear tyres needed replacing but would wait until next service (after just replacing fronts). Sounded like he was doing us a solid favour. Next service comes and his response to that is "no, your rear tyres are fine - plenty of tread on them... who told you they needed replacing?" - replaced the front brake rotors twice in 2 years. When i raise this, he looked worried/confused and looked at the part numbers from the previous year's receipts. He paused and said "ahh, nahhh... we replaced the REAR rotors last year, not the front". Not only did i know this was false because i remembered the previous years discussion, but the evidence was really in the corrosion/rust on the rear brake rotor (which hadn't changed, if not gotten worse). FYI most passenget cars utilise front brakes as a priority, so they look cleaner thab the rears - in the same moment as above, he claimed that he used only the best brake discs on the cars they work on - nothing less than billet steel... which is an absolute crock. Billet steel doesn't really rust, certainly not quickly, but more importantly they typically don't make passenger car brake rotors from billet steel - they're commonly made from CAST IRON. You might see drilled/slotted aftermarket steel brake rotors on enthusiast cars, but not your grocery getter. Now at first i felt bad for the guy, because he was stressing out a few years ago about all sorts of things (including reviews) but now realising and accepting what his business does, i now feel worse for anyone going into MIDAS Bankstown believing his stories. Sorry mate, if you're gonna be seen as a local trusted businessman, you need to act like one and just be more honest. Good luck to you and your business. Now stop ripping people off. Meng is fantastic. Great service for my SUV and beat substantially CARS & Ultra Tune for price. Would not trust anyone else to service or repair my cars.

I'd say a handful of his positive reviews are true, but the rest are either fake (incl friends and family) or people he guilted on first meet to give him a good review to counter the bad reviews.... he initially did the latter with me, and for a while he succeeded. Here's some examples: - told me that rear tyres needed replacing but would wait until next service (after just replacing fronts). Sounded like he was doing us a solid favour. I did my car servicing yesterday paying bill of $1000 expecting a good servicing and repair from them instead I get disappointed with there servicing. Firstly, I noticed that they didn't check tyre pressure next the wiper liquid was low and I am still getting the same warning even after servicing.These are very minor things which they couldn't notice and didn't fix. How can i expect a good and major servicing from them? Rip off.

If I could, I would pul less than one star, maybe half a star out of 5. They used to be good, but now they got too greedy

If you're looking for a mechanic that truly takes care of your car. Then i highly recommend these guys. Wouldn't go else where. Explains in details what needs to be done and why. Still after years going here still the best and honest mechanics.

Terrible customer service. Mehar had so much attitude when I asked the prices for the services they provided. Mehar then proceeded to threaten me with a stillson pipe wrench in front of 2 other workers and a customer. Take your money elsewhere

Honest people and a good mechanic. Worked on my car and done a good job

I should have checked the review before getting service from here. I visited last week to have the light bulb in my Toyota Prius replaced and was charged $45, whereas other places typically charge between $20 and $25 for the same service. The person does not have good manners and pretends that he does not care about the customer. I would not be surprised; he will charge an unexpected amount for other services. I will not go to this place again; there are plenty of other mechanics in Bankstown.

I am a regular customer at Midas Bankstown. I went in with a new 2nd hand vehicle. Mayan went over it thoroughly and found a few things wrong, with the most importantly it had lost the brake fluid viscosity and drained it completely and put nuw brake fluid in and bled the brakes. What a difference. I thought the brakes were good but now, I can't believe how well they work now. Mayan regularly brings things to my attention. He let's me know what is urgent and what needs attention with the next service. Thank you Midas and thank you Mayan. If you go tell them Gordon recommended them.

I visited the Midas shop in Bankstown today, and I must say it was a highly disappointing experience. The customer service was terrible, and the prices were ridiculously high compared to other places in the area. The owner, who I assumed would care about customer satisfaction, showed a complete lack of interest and even asked me, with a rampage attitude, never to return to the shop. Unfortunately, I didn't check Google reviews before coming, I strongly advise anyone considering this shop to reconsider. My visit was nothing short of horrible, and I hope others can avoid the same unpleasant experience.

They are big scammers and robbers in Bankstown. Unbelievable, the owner is extremely aggressive and lacks honesty. Their disrespectful attitude towards customers, openly stating they don't welcome returns and only accept cash payments due to "policy," is appalling. I wish I could give them a 0-star review.

Best place around for all your automobile needs along with the nicest people, Mayn (I think I got it right) is one of the most professional master mechanics I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He can very simply explain very complex mechanical issues which is rare with other mechanics, the team there is unreal they’re on another level with a fast turn around for servicing and any other mechanical repairs or needs, definitely the only people I trust with my cars!!!
